Find Out What People Are Saying

Finding out what people are saying is an important part of delivering the right information in your products, blog posts, forum entries or website content. If you want to have the most recent information about a specific topic then you should consider using tools that let you track online conversations. This way you can locate the biggest questions people are asking and answer them in your content.

talkingGetting the biggest questions and twisting them and presenting them in a compelling, interesting or controversial way is the perfect way to benefit from viral marketing.  Before you can do so you need to find out what people are talking about. There are several tools I like to use which are quite useful for tracking conversations online. One of my favorites is Technorati.  http://technorati.com/allows you to see what’s hot in the blogosphere related to specific keywords or phrases.

For instance a couple months ago I was sitting at my desk and felt the house start to shake. I went to Technorati and typed in BayArea Earthquake and within two minutes after my seat stopped shaking there was information popping up about the recent earthquake from blogs around Northern California.

Another conversation tracking tool that’s useful for finding out what people are talking about is Omgili. At http://www.omgili.com/ you can find out what people are saying right now.

They just made the site even better by releasing a really cool feature that lets you check out the latest buzz. You can check the buzz in conversations at: http://buzz.omgili.com/

Using the buzz tool is a great way to find new topics that are rising in popularity to blog about or create website content for to rank first in the search engines.

Cloudee is an RSS aggregator that tracks websites for hot topics and popular headlines. It then puts all the information together into a search engine that you can use to find relevant keyword phrases.

Visit http://cloudee.com/ to check them out. They organize the data through the use of wordclouds and memes and their primary focus at the present time is in technology and the internet.

Have any more tools that you like to use to track online conversations to find out what people are saying or to find topics to use with viral marketing? If so add them to the comments below.
