(Update) This trick no longer works for getting extra Page Rank to your sites, only added traffic(Update)
Today I'm sharing a pretty cool Myspace trick that will help you get free backlinks to any of your websites.
This one's incredibly easy, but it will probably take about fifteen minutes of your time. Maybe more, as it is a little addicting
The technique allows me to get permanent high pagerank Myspace backlinks by, you might have guessed it, finding recently deleted high pagerank profiles and registering them.
How do I do it you ask? First you need to create a new email address.
Hotmail or Yahoo addresses are good but Gmail addresses are the best. Here's why...With Gmail you can create a long email address like: mynameismatthewsherbornehello@gmail.com
Why so long in the first place? Because, with a Gmail address you can use different variations of the same address to register multiple Myspace accounts. If you're saying whoa there fella, let me explain.
For instance: my.nameismatthewsherbornehello@gmail.com
Is the same as:mynameis.matthewsherbornehello@gmail.com Or, any variation of the same email address with a different placement of the period.
Why you ask? You are only allowed to use one email address per Myspace profile. So, using a long Gmail address and just moving the period each time you register a new profile saves time and keeps all of the profiles in one place. This way you don't have to register a bunch of different email accounts.
The reason I make my Gmail addresses so long is so I can register many different high pagerank profiles. So sign up for a new email address and then register a new Myspace profile. Now go to your email and verify the new profile.
Once verified, log in to your new Myspace profile and scroll down to where it says 'Pick Your Myspace Name.' This is where you'll click once you do a search and find a high page rank profile.
Now that You've got your new Myspace profile open a new window to find some deleted profiles to use for your new account. Go to Google.com in your browser and type the following query:
Invalid Friend ID, This user has either cancelled their membership
Or use this URL snippet, all connected:
http://www.google.com/search?q=+or-their-acccount-has-been-deleted+%22
This+user+has+either+cancelled+their+membership+%22+-%22index.cfm%22
+site:myspace.com&num=100&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all&filter=0
Now in the results you'll want to look for results that look like this:
Invalid User
Invalid Friend ID. This user has either cancelled
their membership, or their acccount has been
deleted.
www.myspace.com/cardboardcity
If you see results with a number instead of a name
keep looking:
Invalid User
Invalid Friend ID. This user has either cancelled
their membership, or their acccount has been
deleted.
www.myspace.com/50196469
You're going to need to look at some of the omitted results, showing further back in the results pages to find the good pagerank 3 and 4 deleted profiles. If you're having trouble finding good URL's, try going way back in the search results.
Once you've found a name that looks promising and you see it's Google pagerank (you do have the Google Pagerank icon installed so you can check, right?) then open your profile and click:

Now you'll see a page that looks like the one below. Enter the new name you just found in your searching into the appropriate boxes and click 'Submit.'

You're then warned that your choice is irreversible, click 'Ok.' If your successful you'll see a page like the one below. Sometimes the name is not actually available for one reason or another and you'll have to go back to searching. However, not in this case:

Now, check out your brand new pagerank Myspace profile. Oh yeah!
You can keep on going back for as many profiles as you want because more newly deleted Myspace profiles become available each day. You can see below that I just registered a nice page rank 3 profile.

I'm using the Firefox, pagerank plugin. You can get it for yourself at http://pagerankstatus.mozdev.org/ It works like a charm to easily determine the pagerank of profiles you find.
Good luck, and let me know how it goes!

Hi, great post! I tried some “Invalid Friend ID” names, but picking MySpace Name/URL is always ending with message “Error: This username is not available! (This username has been taken by another user)”. Some ideas about it? Thanks, Peter
Hey thanks for the kind words,
I just got another Pagerank 3 profile today in one minute of searching…
Try going to Google and clicking ‘Advanced Search’ then add ‘Invalid Friend ID’ in the first box.
Where it says, ‘domain,’ halfway down the page enter, Myspace.com
Then run your search. Make sure you’ve verified your new Myspace profile before you try to change its URL.
Yep, I’m able to get many of deleted names from Google. For example with PR4. MySpace says “Invalid Friend ID”, but it’s still impossible to set name “theneventuallytheworld” for my new verified profile..
Yeah, you’ll noticed that when Myspace deletes a profile it isn’t automatically made available. There’s a deletion time that takes a few days. After this deletion time the URL is able to be registered.
Persistence pays off in grabbing the good page rank URL’s
In the meantime you have to sort through all of the deleted names to find the ones that are available. Or try to re-register the profile you want each day, until it has been dropped.
Hi.. okay..so we get a bunch of great inbound links.. how long before google catches on to this trick and simply discredits the links? And, what would you recommend doing with the new profile? Put links to each of your websites into each profile?
Hey awesome stuff, will have to try that soon! Just have to find some use to those profiles, could always do something with ‘em, and write some stuff, so it’d at least relevant. Great post Matt. I’m wondering the same thing as David (comment above), any idea what would SEs think of this? could google catch up on this?
Thanx Matt! Take care
Hey guys,
Thanks for the compliments and questions.
David asks “How long before Google catches this trick and simply discredits the links and what would I recommend doing with the new profile?”
There’s no way to predict how Google will react to linking techniques once they become very popular like the ones at Myspace have. In my opinion, I’d worry more about Myspace discounting outgoing links as they have already begun tracking comment postings to look for abuse.
Will they stop PR being transferred from profiles? I would say no, because doing so would greatly diminish the reason many people go there in the first place.
You can count on Google to do what helps their bottom line. If Myspace links are found to be passing on a disproportionate amount of link weight you should expect Google to water down their relevancy. Although to my knowledge it hasn’t happened yet.
I’ve been incredibly busy finishing up my newest course, the Paid Insider so I haven’t had too much time lately for promoting on Myspace.
As far as what to do with your profile. Set it up like normal, add a few links to sites you own for PR weight and maybe some traffic. This could lead to increased traffic if you join a few groups and take the time to promote the profile.
Here’s a quick example of what you can do with a profile:
Wow Matthew, very good tip. I now have three PR3 profiles with my link, wohoo. The only downside is the loss of time due to the addiction, hehe. I think I have reviewd like 2000 invalid users searching for a high pr that actually works. Its good to mention that it is extremely hard to find one that actually works.
Thanks again! just got myself a pr 5 site.
Great tip…I’m off to try it now.
I’ll let you know if I’m able to
find some good ones!
Daniel
