Here’s a Google trick for web site content. It takes your free (PLR) private label rights content and helps you create new web content and avoid the duplicate content penalties.

If you’re anything like me you’ve got tons of PLR content sitting around on your computer that you’d like to use. Unfortunately, almost everyone else involved with internet marketing has the very same PLR you’ve got.

There’s the problem, you’ve got this PLR you’d like to use on your site but don’t have the time, patience or energy to make it unique.

As you know Google doesn’t look kindly at a million websites, all with the very same PLR content shown on their pages. It will pick a couple sites it deems best, to show in results, and the rest will go in what is called the supplemental index.

It’s not a Google ban per se, but it is a place where you’re unlikely to be found in an organic keyword search. In essence the PLR article will bring you no organic results if you’re in the supplemental index.

Now to get around this problem you need to:

A. Invest in an article spinner that costs anywhere from $49 to $197, to give you a different variation of your article. These usually use synonym replacement and after taking time, effort and money come out looking funny. Or…

B. Rewrite the article by hand giving it a new headline, changing synonyms, changing sentence structure and article layout along with injecting new sentences to create unique content. Or…

C. Pay some one to rewrite your article. You can find people on Elance, Scriptlance, Guru.com to take your articles and rewrite them. Drawback is many times this can be costly and the results can end up looking as bad as the ones from the article spinners.

So what should you do to change your PLR articles in to unique content and avoid duplicate content penalties? Here’s what I do…Visit Google Translate at:

What we’re going to do is translate your PLR article into another language, then translate it back into English. Believe it or not, in the process of translation many words will be changed, which instantly converts your article into a different form.

To get started, take your PLR article and copy and paste it into the Google translate box. Once pasted select English to French from the drop-down menu and click, ‘translate.’ (I prefer ussing English to French, you may want to experiment with other language translations to get better results.)

Now you should see your PLR article translated into the French language. Next just copy the French translated article and paste it back into the left window. Once pasted select French to English from the drop-down menu and click, ‘translate.’

You should now have an article that is transformed into about 50-65% duplicate content instead of 100%. From this point I like to enter my article into a program to compare my original PLR article with my new translated one. For this I use a free program called DupeFree. From inside the software you’ll want to cut and paste both articles, new and old into the left and right boxes. Then click the compare button to find out how different the two are.

This is still a little high for a unique article. I want my article to be as close to 0% as possible. As a rule of thumb you are usually completely safe with 30% duplicate content or less. However, I have often used 40 to 50% and have had great results.

The first thing I like to change is the article headline. This is where it pays to go to Free Word Tracker and enter in the keyword or keyword phrase you want to optimize the article for. Find the keyword phrase that you want to rank for and include it in your articles headline.

Next change some of the synonyms, break up the paragraph and sentence structure and add some content until you get the desired results. One thing to note is that translations from English to French and then back again, can sometimes give your article strange results. In this case you may want to use this technique on your feeder sites to deliver website traffic to your personal blog or money sites. I never use this for my personal blog, due to the mixed results.
