How To Profit In Niche Markets

If you’ve been following what I’ve been doing online since I launched the Myspace Cash Machine, you’ll know that I talk a lot about profiting from ‘niche markets.’

The niche markets I’m most interested in are the ones that are hyped up day and night by the news media, bloggers and just about everyone else you can think of.

Think…Apple Iphone kind of publicity.

With this kind of publicity it’s very easy to satisfy the rabid demand for more information by providing content that people desperately want. Basically these are opportunities in disguise, just waiting for you to come along and tap in to it.

What it means for us is, finding an exciting opportunity that has a lot of buzz going, and targeting it with content on your own blog or webpage.

Once you’ve set up the content and added a way to profit (more on this in a minute) it’s just a matter of either getting traffic from the search engines or plugging in to social networks like Myspace, Squidoo, Digg or Stumbleupon to get the ball rolling.

That’s where you come in…by targeting the right opportunity at the right time, you can literally plug in and profit.

Here’s the formula I use in a nutshell:

1. Determine a profitable opportunity

2. Create content

3. Monetize your website

4. Generate traffic

5. Repeat the process

Finding these profitable opportunities is easy if you know ‘what’ you’re looking for. In fact, once you know how, you’ll see them everywhere. Your problem won’t be finding them but finding the time to profit from the best ones.

To find hot niche opportunities I like using sites like:

Yahoo Buzz

(Here’s one you probably haven’t heard of, it’s Ebay’s Want It Now. Enter a search term in the box to easily find what other people are looking for)

The real ‘fuel’ behind your Internet business is valuable content. By providing the hungry niche market with strong content, you’ll easily be able to funnel visitor traffic to right where it counts, your website.

You should write the content yourself unless it’s a subject that doesn’t interest you or you feel you don’t know the subject. If you’re not too thrilled with creating your own content you’ve got a few options.

Find an outsourcer to create it for you, or purchase some PLR content that you can then rewrite to make unique. (Remember the search engines love unique content.)

When it comes to monetizing your website you have several choices. My favorites are:

1. Create your own product to sell

2. Sell a related resell rights product

3. Set up pay per click ads like Google Adsense

4. Promote an affiliate product (Amazon, Click bank,
Paydotcom to name a few)

Selling a product you create yourself will definitely provide the biggest payback. You can add an encrypted Paypal link and set it to automatically deliver the report once it’s purchased.

Linking to affiliate programs is a great way to feed the visitors need for more information as long as the product directly relates to the niche. Your typical commission will be 50% of the purchase price, which when you’re getting a few hundred visitors a day to your site can add up fast.

Tapping in to niche markets does not take a lot of money or time. By following a formula you can apply the same tactics over and over and create multiple streams of income very quickly.
