We’re Brothers Forever

Ok, I’ve got to admit to a seriously bad habit the past couple of weeks… Here’s a hint, does,” We’re brothers forever, or I am your brother,” ring a bell?

If you haven’t guessed, I’ve been watching American Idol. I know as unbelievable as it sounds, there’s something even more unbelievable then that. It’s the amount of Youtube views one of the recent auditions has gotten. Over 790,000 in about ten days!

Now I usually only watch the beginning of the season due to the spectacular train wreck factor. However, this clip did get me thinking. Do you think this guy’s got a future in the music business?

More importantly, what can you do to get a fraction of the results from your own videos. That is, besides donning a white suit and singing your own home-made songs at the top of your lungs…

Approaching one million views on Youtube, you’ve got to wonder just how many people would be willing to shell out a few bucks to hear more of, “I am your Brother,” and Renaldo Lapuz’s Greatest Hits.

Let’s sing it together… “I am your brother, your best friend forever!” :)

With that said, there’s no doubt of the tremendous potential of using online video. So much in fact that I’ve been giving it a much closer look. It’s not as hard as you think to get started. Using the creative commons search over at http://search.creativecommons.org/ you too can find video to use to promote your online business.

Adding a URL watermark in the bottom of your video or including an intro featuring your websites URL at the beginning and end could give you great exposure. Another trick that’s highly effective is to include your websites URL right at the beginning of the description of your Youtube video. These tactics can give your site immediate exposure, website traffic and backlinks.

Stay tuned for more information on just how I’m using free public domain and my own video to get website traffic. Here’s a link to a previous related post titled, how to make money from video ads.

I don’t think i’d pay for that, but it was fun to listen too. I especially liked how the guy got all the judges singing along.
