I was tagged by Alex Mayo from her 60K Challenge site, thanks a lot Alex
No, its not the playground recess kind of tag. According to the “Tagging” rules I’m supposed to answer her question of “Why I Blog” and then ask four other bloggers a question. Then we all get to play tag, sounds like fun, right?
Why do I Blog? Simple enough question I guess…
The real reason I blog can be summed up by one of my role models, Stephen R Covey from the 7 Habits of Highly Successful People who says, “Begin With the End In Mind.” I blog to “have the end in mind,” my customers.
Blogging allows me to form a relationship with my customers. I can listen to their advice, brand my name and keep my finger on the pulse of my business. Blogs are a highly effective means of communicating my thoughts easily, quickly and they serve as a great way to get feedback from my customers. This further serves the purpose of my message being transferred more readily ‘by’ my loyal followers, in the form of online buzz.
To continue my online success it’s necessary to excel in all aspects of business including research, marketing and branding. Blogging gives me the outlet to accomplish all three. Reader feedback allows me to find out what people are interested in. Determining their interests and analyzing their responses give me valuable information about their wants and needs. Their word of mouth has the potential to do more for my marketing message and branding than money could ever do.
The key to my success is always having my customer’s wants as the end goal. I work backwards to create the necessary steps that allow me to achieve the greatest compliment, satisfied customers.

[...] Since my last post I’ve been tagged twice. Matthew tagged me with the question “Why should you blog?” and Mark over at Me And My Drum tagged me with the very similar “Five reasons why I blog”. Since these two topics are pretty much the same, I’m going to take them both up on their tags with this post, and explain the most obvious reasons why I blog. Hopefully my reasons are generic enough to be applicable to others as well, and give some of my readers a good reason or two to start blogging! [...]
